Everything you need to kickstart design research.
Research is the most crucial step in innovation, as it provides an understanding about users’ behaviour and actionable insights anchored in their behaviour, needs and dreams for the future.
ā
Unlike conventional research methodologies, design research amalgamate and curate methods and techniques from the toolboxes of ethnography, anthropology etc. to discover not just insights, but a whole new perspective and fresh ideas which you would never dare to think!

Enhancing User Experience for an In-home Learning Platform
Usability study to decode learning behaviour of Indian Urban Kids, driving product improvement.
LearnWISE is an integrated learning platform by FortunaPIX which was designed for in-home learning for k6-9 kids. Crossed Design conducted a comprehensive usability study interacting with diverse set of users to analyze their experience and define future directions for the product.
Research Design
& Execution
Initial phase of report began with designing the research by understanding the scenario to be tested. After carefully dissecting the user flow in the prototype broad directions emerged for investigating the user. Using the model of applied research, activities and tools were designed to gain insights about the users and their environments.
Day in a Wheel
Crossed Design created this activity to initiate the conversation about user’s daily activities and interactions. This helped in understanding the patterns & key stakeholders in their life.
Interview Guide
An empathetic study was designed to understand user’s behaviors, emotions and mental models about learning. Interview guide’s objective was to uncover the journey of learning from various modes like school classrooms, tuitions, self study to examination halls, and even beyond.
Usability Study
Usability study was designed to understand how users interact with the product & what are their expectations from it. Objective was to validate the product and find future design directions.
To ensure we get rich & versatile information, each respondent was handpicked with a mix of demography & psychography.
Criticality Index
Crossed Design developed an index with 4 levels of criticality. The problems faced by users and generated insights were mapped on these 4 levels.
Based on the index, necessary changes were suggested prioritizing resolution of highly critical issues.
