Everything you need to kickstart design research.
Research is the most crucial step in innovation, as it provides an understanding about users’ behaviour and actionable insights anchored in their behaviour, needs and dreams for the future.
Unlike conventional research methodologies, design research amalgamate and curate methods and techniques from the toolboxes of ethnography, anthropology etc. to discover not just insights, but a whole new perspective and fresh ideas which you would never dare to think!

Films for North-Eastern Stakeholders on Aquatic Resources.
Creation of production requirements, from subject analysis interviews to logistical challenges of a big crew, to editing short films & feature lengths.

One of the world’s biodiversity hotspots, the northeastern terrain is filled with aquatic resources that are still being discovered. The objective of our project was to capture the essence of the communities living there, cover all perspectives from research interviews & use the footage to construct 14 different films
Pre-Production Phase
Before beginning our shoot schedule, we had to understand the subject matter in depth & the technicalities of the current ecosystem.
In the pre-production phase, we did primary research by setting-up multiple rounds of stakeholder interviews, & meets to build a close-to-script vision & comprehension to drive the narrative.
Outlines were established to navigate locations, & in-person interviews about interventions have taken place at pilot sites.

One conscious choice while documenting the stories on the ground, was to record interviews in unscripted formats. The interviews were conducted in environments contextual to the communities and departments, capturing experiences and relationships with the rich aquatic ecosystems. This allowed the participants to speak freely about their challenges, the communities they cherish, and their interconnections.
Travelling through the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur, the crew of 6 had specific jobs and tasks for every segment of the film-making journey.
The logistical planning of itineraries helped us cover the ground smoothly each day of the film shoot. The journalistic style of filmmaking enabled us to be spontaneous with footage.

Post- Production
After the footage was shot, the editing process began. The editor's adherence to the scripts helped shape 14 films, each with different narratives. Coordinating with all stakeholders, maintaining various project guidelines, and bringing the nuances of the subject into light was an integral part of the process.
